Pianist Nicolas Horvath, a true piano adventurer, explores all repertoires with the 88 keys of his piano: classical, experimental, minimalist, and offers a new album, "Nocturnes Secrets", devoted to Chopin's Nocturnes. He compiles all the versions corrected and annotated by the composer himself, found on the scores of his pupils. The result is a complete set of Chopin's Nocturnes, including previously unpublished versions, performed by one of today's most captivating pianists.
In less than twenty years, Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849) gave the Nocturnes their letters of nobility, transforming simple sentimental pieces into veritable pianistic monuments where "the most tragic cry rubs shoulders with the most intense exultation", as Camille Bourniquel poetically and aptly puts it.
At this concert, the audience will be able to listen for the first time to previously unpublished versions of Chopin's Nocturnes, while enjoying a sensory experience in which the light follows the notes of the artist's piano, thanks to the new system created by Studio Dynamic & the Steinway Spirio|r.
An exhibition of photos by Andy Julia, who designed the album cover for Les Nocturnes Secrets, will be on view in the foyer of the Salle Gaveau.
